No reviews yet
We opened this year, so there are no reviews yet. Here are the numbers instead: 9 heat settings, 9.0 hours . And if it isn't right, send it back within fourteen days.
What this is
- 180 × 160 cm, 30 cm wider than the rest of the range
- Nine heat settings on a touch controller
- Timer from one to nine hours
- PTC heating element with an NTC temperature sensor
- Flannel one face, sherpa the other
- Overheat protection on the heating element
You are heating a room to warm one person.
This is the largest throw we sell: 180 × 160 cm. Thirty centimetres wider than the Hazel and the Rowan, which is the difference between a throw that covers one person properly and a throw that covers two.
Flannel on one face, sherpa on the other.
Nine heat settings on a touch controller, and a timer you set from one to nine hours. Underneath it, a PTC heating element with an NTC temperature sensor. The element regulates itself as it warms, and the sensor reads the temperature back to the controller.
The manufacturer specifies the PTC element as reaching temperature faster than a standard heating wire. We have not measured it ourselves, so we do not publish a time. When we have measured it, the number will appear here.
Safety
It is an electrical appliance that spends the evening on top of a person. So this is the second thing on the page, not the last.
- Overheat protection on the heating element.
- An NTC temperature sensor reading back to the controller, alongside the self-regulating PTC element.
- A timer you set, from one to nine hours. When it runs out, the power stops.
- 220-240 V, on a BS 1363 three-pin plug. No adaptor, no travel plug, no converter.
Everything above is a mechanism, not a promise. The detailed instructions for use are in the printed sheet in the box.
Before you use it
- Not for a baby, or a child who cannot work the controller.
- Not for anyone who cannot feel heat properly, or who could not react to it getting too hot.
- Do not use it folded, creased, or tucked under you. This one goes on top.
- Do not put pins or needles in it.
- Look at the cable and the fabric before each winter. If anything is scorched, frayed or cracked, stop using it and tell us.
- Unplug it before washing, and let it dry completely before it goes back on.
What it costs to run
Not published yet.
The Oak uses a PTC element, which changes what it draws as it warms. We have not measured it, and we have not been given the figure for this size, so we do not publish one. When we have it, it goes on this page.
This compares two appliances running for the same length of time. It is not a comparison of your heating bill.
Change the hours, the evenings per week and the tariff yourself: What it costs to run.
Material and care
Flannel on the face you turn towards you. Sherpa on the other: the deeper, looped side that holds air, and heat, close.
Unplug it first and let it dry flat. Do not iron it, do not dry-clean it, and never put the controller in water.
Why it is safe to leave on
This is an electrical appliance you put on a bed. Here is exactly what stops it getting too hot.
- Switches itself off after 9.0 hours
Protections fitted
- Overheat protection
- Timer cut-off, 1 to 9 hours
- PTC and NTC temperature system
Certificates on file
We publish a certification mark only when we hold the certificate that names this exact model. We do not hold one for this product yet, so none is shown.

Care
Machine washable. Unclip the controller first and dry it flat. We publish the wash temperature when the manufacturer states it for this exact model, and not before.
Sizes — Heated Throws - United Kingdom
Hazel and Rowan are the same size: 180 by 130 cm. What separates them is the controller, not the cloth. Oak is 180 by 160 cm, half a metre wider, which is what makes it a throw two people can sit under.
