About Maison Alcôve

Heat the person, not the house

A heated throw draws 160 W. A plug-in radiator draws 2,000 W. Both keep one person warm.

Four hours at full power uses 0.64 kWh. A 2,000 W radiator uses 8 kWh over the same four hours. What that costs depends on your tariff, your meter and your supplier, so we do not put a saving on a poster. We publish the watts and let you do the sum with your own numbers.

That is the whole idea of this shop. If you are sitting in one chair in one room, you do not need to bring the whole house up to temperature to stop being cold.

Where the name comes from

A wattle is a hurdle woven from hazel rods. A fold is where the flock is brought in at dusk. For six hundred years, one was built from the other: the woven panel was the thing that cut the wind around something alive.

We took the name because it says what a heated throw does, in words that are older than the appliance.

To be plain about it: we do not weave anything, and our products are not made in England. The name is a name. Where each product is made is written on its product page.

What we are

Maison Alcôve is a shop. We choose the products, we set the specification we will accept, we photograph them ourselves, and we sell them under our name.

We are not a manufacturer. Our heated throws, underblankets and cushions are made by {{FABRICANT}}.

We opened in 2026. That is recent, and we would rather say it than have you work it out.

How we talk about the products

No reviews, for now. There are no star ratings on this site because we have not collected any yet. We will not write them ourselves, and we will not buy them. When there are real ones, they will appear with the words the customer wrote.

No counters, no timers, no crossed-out prices. Nothing on this site tells you that eleven people are looking at your basket, or that a price ends in nine minutes. If a product sells out, the page says sold out.

If it is not the one, keep it. We refund within 14 days of delivery and we do not ask for it back. A photo and an order number are enough. It costs us more than a returns process. It means you can order without wondering what happens if you are wrong.

The numbers are the argument. Watts, centimetres, minutes, degrees, and what the controller actually does. Every figure on a product page comes from the manufacturer's specification and we can show you where.

Safety is a feature, not a footnote. These are electrical appliances that spend the evening on top of a person. Overheat protection, an automatic cut-off, and a controller that detaches so the textile can go in the machine. Those are the first things we ask a supplier about, and the first things we put on the page. The wash temperature for each product is on its product page and on its care label.

What we sell it for

Our throws cost more than a supermarket throw. They are made to be the only one you buy.

We do not compete on price with a £35 blanket, and we will not pretend to. What we spend the difference on is visible: our own photography, a specification we control, delivery that arrives when we said, and a return you can actually use.

Maison Alcôve is a trading name of CB Media Solution LLC, a company registered in the State of Wyoming, United States. We sell to customers in the United Kingdom from there, and we hold a returns address in the United Kingdom.

We say it on this page rather than leave you to find it on an invoice. Two things follow from it, and both are in your favour:

Your UK consumer rights apply in full. A company registered abroad cannot contract out of them, and we do not try. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the 14-day cancellation right are set out in our Terms of Service.
