You are heating a room to warm one person.
A heated throw draws 120 W. A plug-in radiator draws 2,000 W. Both keep one person warm.
Flannel on one face, sherpa on the other. 180 × 130 cm, long enough to cover a seated adult from shoulder to ankle.
Three settings. Low to take the edge off, medium for a long evening, high for the first ten minutes after you come in from outside. Most people find one of the three and stay there.
This is the plain version of the range. The material is the same weight of flannel and sherpa as the Rowan. What it does not have is ten settings, a screen, and a controller that comes off. That is the whole difference, and it is written on the Rowan page too.
Safety
It is an electrical appliance that spends the evening on top of a person. So this is the second thing on the page, not the last.
- Overheat protection on the heating element.
- A three-hour cut-off. The power stops after three hours, whether or not you remember. Switch it on again if you want another three.
- 220-240 V, on a BS 1363 three-pin plug. No adaptor, no travel plug, no converter.

- Look at the cable and the fabric before each winter. If anything is scorched, frayed or cracked, stop using it and tell us.
- Unplug it before washing, and let it dry completely before it goes back on.

Hazel and Rowan are the same size: 180 by 130 cm. What separates them is the controller, not the cloth. Oak is 180 by 160 cm, half a metre wider, which is what makes it a throw two people can sit under.
