We opened this year, so there are no reviews yet. Here are the numbers instead: 160 W, 10 heat settings, 10.0 hours . And if it isn't right, send it back within fourteen days.
What this is
- 160 W, where a plug-in radiator draws 2,000 W
- Ten heat settings, not three
- Timer from one to ten hours, in one-hour steps
- Controller detaches; the throw goes in the machine
- 180 × 130 cm, shoulder to ankle on a seated adult
- Overheat protection on the heating element
You are heating a room to warm one person.
A heated throw draws 160 W. A plug-in radiator draws 2,000 W. Both keep one person warm.
Flannel on one face, sherpa on the other. 180 × 130 cm, long enough to cover a seated adult from shoulder to ankle, and wide enough to tuck under both sides of you on a two-seat sofa.
Ten heat settings. Most heated throws give you three, which means you spend the evening between too little and too much. The screen shows the setting you are on and the hours left on the timer.
Safety
It is an electrical appliance that spends the evening on top of a person. So this is the second thing on the page, not the last.
- Overheat protection on the heating element.
- A timer you set, from one to ten hours, in one-hour steps. When it runs out, the power stops. It does not stay on all night because you fell asleep.
- The controller detaches at the throw. The electronics come off, the textile goes in the machine, and the two never meet water.
- 220-240 V, on a BS 1363 three-pin plug. No adaptor, no travel plug, no converter.
Everything above is a mechanism, not a promise. The detailed instructions for use are in the printed sheet in the box.
Before you use it
- Not for a baby, or a child who cannot work the controller.
- Not for anyone who cannot feel heat properly, or who could not react to it getting too hot.
- Do not use it folded, creased, or tucked under you. This one goes on top.
- Do not put pins or needles in it.
- Look at the cable and the fabric before each winter. If anything is scorched, frayed or cracked, stop using it and tell us.
- Unplug it before washing, and let it dry completely before it goes back on.
What it costs to run
At its highest setting this throw draws 160 W. A typical portable heater draws 2,000 W.
In energy: 0.64 kWh against 8.00 kWh for the same four hours.
This compares two appliances running for the same length of time. It is not a comparison of your heating bill.
Change the hours, the evenings per week and the tariff yourself: What it costs to run.
Material and care
Flannel on the face you turn towards you. Sherpa on the other: the deeper, looped side that holds air, and heat, close.
Wash it. That is the point of a controller that comes off. Do not iron it, do not dry-clean it, and never put the controller in water.
Why it is safe to leave on
This is an electrical appliance you put on a bed. Here is exactly what stops it getting too hot.
- Switches itself off after 10.0 hours
- The controller detaches, so the textile goes in the machine
Protections fitted
- Overheat protection
- Timer cut-off, 1 to 10 hours
- Detachable controller

Machine washable. Unclip the controller first and dry it flat. We publish the wash temperature when the manufacturer states it for this exact model, and not before.
Detach the controller before washing.
Sizes — Heated Throws - United Kingdom
Hazel and Rowan are the same size: 180 by 130 cm. What separates them is the controller, not the cloth. Oak is 180 by 160 cm, half a metre wider, which is what makes it a throw two people can sit under.
